How long does the IUI procedure take to complete?
The IUI procedure is somewhat similar to a simple gynecology exam that takes 5-10 minutes to complete. The sperm is collected beforehand, isolated, and washed in our andrology lab.
We look for the most motile sperm to place in the patient’s womb to increase the chances of conception. The placing of the sperm is carried out using a soft catheter that won’t disturb the sperm. Cramping after the procedure is normal.
We Monitor the Perfect Time for the Procedure
IUI is better carried out close to ovulation. This ovulation period can be tracked using hormone testing or ultrasound, but the patient is supposed to strictly visit the center. We do not recommend trying to detect the ovulation period using fertility monitors or ovulation predictor kits at home, because, we cannot take any risk with you.
